Idea of the Month – “Fail again. Fail better.”

“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

Samuel Beckett

December’s Idea of the Month is a great quote which comes from the Irish novelist and playwright Samuel Beckett’s novella Worstword Ho.

This ethos has inspired everyone from the professional tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka, who has Beckett’s words tattooed on his arm, to Elon Musk, who takes a similar approach to his incredibly ambitious projects.

It’s a mantra which encourages us to dust ourselves down when we fail and have another go until we get to where we want to go, which neatly encapsulates the resilient spirit required when attempting to achieve change against the odds.
